Laminated Curved Glass with STRATO® Interlayers for the Pharmacy Museum in Croatia
STRATO® LATTE and STRATO® EXTRA CHIARO combined to create a product with unique characteristics.
Following the supply of films for laminated mirrored glass for glamping accommodations in Slovenia, Satinal has recently completed a new project in the Balkans using STRATO® EVA films: the glass for the JGL Pharmacy Museum in Rijeka, Croatia.
The JGL Pharmacy Museum
The JGL Pharmacy Museum is a new cultural attraction inaugurated in Rijeka, Croatia, which traces the history of world and Croatian pharmacy, presenting it in a contemporary and highly accessible manner. The permanent exhibition consists of 10 units, including a display of medicinal plants, a historical overview of pharmacies in the city of Rijeka, and the reconstruction of a real pharmacy office from the early 20th century.
The modernity of the museum and the experience offered to visitors can already be perceived at the level of the environment and the materials used for the installations: among these, glass plays a fundamental role. Widely used in all the spaces of the Croatian museum, glass is the protagonist of multiple units, such as the timeline dedicated to the development of pharmacy at a local level, where it helps to make the educational path clear and immersive, as well as embellishing the aesthetics of the museum spaces.
Curved laminated glass for museum installations
Satinal, an Italian manufacturer of high-quality interlayers for safety glass, was chosen as the supplier for the laminating films of the glass destined for the new Pharmacy Museum in Rijeka, through an international partnership aimed at a large-scale cultural project. The aesthetic and performance requirements of the client found a concrete and optimal response in the combination of two EVA films from the STRATO® series, the range of made-in-Italy interlayers available in different colors and finishes, in order to create specific curved laminated glasses:
- STRATO® LATTE, an EVA film ideal for the internal lighting of environments thanks to its ability to allow light to filter through the glass without reflections. The light is thus diffused uniformly and, thanks to the satin texture, typical of the STRATO® FROST line, creates harmonious frost effects even on curved surfaces (discover STRATO® LATTE);
- STRATO® EXTRA CHIARO, a high-transparency interlayer applicable internally and externally, which guarantees optimal light transmission and is able to filter more than 99% of UV rays, while guaranteeing maximum protection (discover STRATO® EXTRA CHIARO).
The result is a curved laminated glass characterized by a high level of aesthetic elegance and a superior level of resistance, as well as the lighting, transparency, and UV protection characteristics of the interlayers of which it is composed. In this way, Satinal, thanks to the versatility and the countless combination possibilities of the interlayers of the STRATO® line, has placed its technical know-how in the glass industry at the service of culture and its dissemination to the general public.
